This past Memorial Day I reflected, remembered and was reminded of the many men and women who gave their lives, who paid the ultimate sacrifice, that we may continue to live in liberty and freedom. The freedoms we enjoy are not free. They cost somebody. REFLECT - Somebody paid a price for you and me. And, maybe you don't know someone personally who gave their life for you. That's okay. We are asked to remember them.
I have a friend who's grandfather paid the price on the shores of Normandy (France) on D-Day during World War ll. Many gave their lives that day so that many would be free from tyranny. Today, I am remembering my friend's grandfather, my friend and his family, and extended family who had to continue to press forward in spite of their loss and grief.
In the Bible, we are encouraged to REMEMBER the things that are important to God, and those things that are important to us. It may be fun things like birthdays, anniversaries, or other celebrations, or other markers in our lives that may bring painful memories or a sense of loss or grief. In all those types of moments of remembering, I find myself humbly before God thanking Him for the blessings of my past, present, and declaring His continued blessings over my future and my generation's future.
God is good and He has a plan for my life and your life that goes far beyond what we can think or imagine for a thousand years. Frankly, as a fully devoted believer in Jesus, we are promised by God that He will be with us in whatever circumstances or situations we face each day. We can choose to stay or remain under the shelter of His wing (Ps. 91) and press forward knowing He is making a way for us. I don't know about you, but that is reassuring to me knowing that I am not alone.
While in the Prayer Room today I felt a strong urge to encourage all of us to pray for the seven mountains of society or spheres of influence in our nation. The seven areas or mountains are as follows:
1. Arts & Entertainment; 2. Business & Finance; 3. Education & Research; 4. Family;
5. Government; 6. Media & Communications; 7. Religion (Faith)
Our nation needs you right now to take a moment to pray - pray for the seven Spirits of God (from Isaiah 11:2) to rest upon us.
1. The Spirit of the Lord; 2. The Spirit of Wisdom; 3. The Spirit of Understanding; 4. The Spirit of Counsel; 5. The Spirit of Might; 6. The Spirit of Knowledge; 7. The Spirit of Reverential Fear (God is God and we are not).
We bless you to PRAY seeking God; asking Him questions about what you need or what we need as a nation; and remembering His work in, on, over, and through our nation.
1 John 5:14-15 -- Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
